The game is possible to play with a controller but from my experience it is very difficult to control the car properly and is almost impossible to control the car if the back gets too loose. It's a much better game with a wheel, and whilst playable with a controller don't expect to be challenging people with wheels online or beating their times.

Assetto Corsa with a controller is fun (using xbox one controller) you have to take time to do the button mapping however it just plays like many other race sims such as gran turismo and forza however a racing wheel is the best option if you want to have a true racing experiance and best preformance. #12.
